#1 The restraint demonstrated by Jesus
Discuss a witnessing or personal evangelism incident that you have observed, in which the Biblical constraints seen in Jesus in the encounters listed below were not observed.
What undesirable outcomes can result from not working within the same boundaries that Jesus did?

Jesus did not minimize the truth in order to maximize converts: John 2:23-25; 6:66,67

Jesus made it clear that being his follower was not easy: Matthew 8:18-22; Luke 18:18-23

Jesus made it clear that to follow him meant to acknowledge him as the almighty God: John 8:24; 1:12; 3:18,36

Jesus made it clear that it was the Holy Spirit, not human will, that convinced people of his divine identity and brought them to conversion: John 6:44; Matthew 11:27; John 3:5

Jesus knew that there were times when it was not appropriate to keep talking to people about the truth: Matthew 12:15b,16; Mark 7:36; 2:17; Matthew 15:14; 16:4b; 10:11-16; 7:6.
