STUDY ONE: WHAT ARE WE HERE FOR?

Task #1: Introductory Discussion

Discuss, and list in the table below, the way in which these three aspects of our society are disintegrating:

Task #2: Why is it like this?

In the table list the significant features of the four main ideologies impacting our outlook as a society.

Task #3: Substitute sources of Meaning and Purpose

In the absence of knowledge of the one true God humans seek meaning and purpose elsewhere. In the table below identify how Christians have been subtly deceived by the mentality of the world and, within the context of their 'Christian walk', have 'Christianised' these mentalities, and sought fulfilment in them instead of finding it in God.

Task #4: What Does the Bible Say?

Is there any answer to the question 'What are we here for?' Check out the verses below and note what they say about the purpose and significance of human existence.

Task #5: Study again the asterisked verses. What do they all have in common? In what way do they indicate how this purpose of God for human life can be fulfilled? Write your thoughts below.
